Bees in glass

September 2015, Northlands Creative Glass. My take on the plight of the bee. Dead bees were cast in glass, and a copper model of a bee was included in the cast that represents a block of ice.

 My aim was to make few pieces of glass art on the theme of the plight of bees and the state of the planet (grand ideas).
Images show a copper model of a bee as if frozen in ice; figures cast from a spinal fragment washed up on the beach in conversation with human heads made in clear glass.

Wirral Open Studios 2015

June 2015 at Wirral Art Centre in West Kirby Istra, Helen and Chrissie glass artists exhibited their glass togather with 2 local photographers. This event was very popular with the local art and glass lovers.

EIBAB-European Book Art Biennale Exhibition Bucharest

June 06-30 2015. Istra is contributing to an International exhibition of "book" as an object in art with 3 pieces. The event is organised by Dora Filiss for National Association for the Visual Contemporary Art at the Cultural Space Gallery, Bucharest, Romania.

The Map project at Wirral Festival of Firsts

24th May 2015 at the Floral pavilion in New Brighton, Wirral we opened our Map project exhibition as a part of Wirral Festival of Firsts, and 175 celebrations of Cunard Atlantic crossing with 3 Queens sailing up Mersay and Liverpool.
