November 2013, we are invited to exhibit by the Montenegran society at Zajednica Crnogoraca in Pula. Istra will show some of her latest glass art together with Nina, Radojka, Marija members of Studio Valeria.

Istra gave a set of workshops in glass fusing, painting on glass and engraving for groups of artists from Croatia, Italy, Sweden and U.K. beginners and intermediate level of skill.

10 years of Studio Valeria

Studio Valeria 25^th October celebrated 10 years of successful functioning under the Istra’s leadership. During that time Istra organised many workshops in glass art, painting, and workshops in creative-psychological development; a number of community projects; major international projects; and many exhibitions. She celebrated with her family, friends and many local supporters.

  

Creative loosening workshops

October 2013. Studio Valeria in Medulin, Croatia. Istra is the organiser and the leader of a 4 part creative loosening workshop using sound, language, drawing  in exploring self perception about the place we call our HOME. These workshops are based on psychology, perception and creativity.

Northlands Creative Glass 2013

September 2013, at Lybster, Caithness in Scotland have spent 2 weeks at the Northlands Creative Glass conference followed by the most stimulating master class in glass with Eeva Kasper from Estonia, Robyn from Canada and 8 glass artist friends from Canada, Scotland and England. My work was inspired by my desire to change and transform, sense of the place and history. My images show translated statement into early Rune script.

 

De-junk-Re-junk art from found objects

Istra's work includes a plate made from a bus shelter glass fragments and black-white roses made from plastic bags, and an installation with Eco message to show how is the sea environment and creatures affected by pollution from oil spills and discarded plastic. This piece is lit and set in a gun case.

Contemporary Glass Society North at Pendle, U.K.

18th May 2013. Pendle Higherford Mill, U.K. Glass Festival. Istra contributed her framed leaded glass panels together with a number of glass artists from the North of England. The event was very well received by many visitors and the media.
